Happy Year of the Monkey!

I’m posting a bit late but here are the nails I did for the Lunar New Year!

The red is Picture Polish Arabian and the stamping is from Hehe plate 042 using Kleancolor Metallic Yellow. First two photos in shade.

Flash photos:

The holo still doesn’t show very well in these pics but it’s there amongst all those glass flecks!

I used two coats of Arabian plus top coat. It has a great formula.

Love this stamping plate! Happy New Year to everyone celebrating 🙂

Picture Polish Imperial

Picture Polish Imperial is a bright purple creme-based polish with tons of shimmer, especially blue glass-fleck shimmer, and small pale gold hex glitter. The glitter sometimes gives off more of a rose-gold look when it’s shining through the purple base. I used two coats of Imperial, plus top coat.

Picture Polish Revenge and Nemesis

Picture Polish Revenge and Nemesis are gorgeous glowy burgundy duochrome shimmer polishes, without and with scattered holo, respectively. I used Revenge as an accent nail on my ring finger. I did two coats of each polish, no top coat here.

Picture Polish New York, Ornate, and stamping

Here are two gorgeous Picture Polishes, New York and Ornate!

picturepolish_newyork_ornate3

New York is a rich rose pink scattered holo and Ornate is a plum purple scattered holo with medium golden hex glitter and small fuchsia glitter.

picturepolish_newyork_ornate2

picturepolish_newyork_ornate

I stamped them with Colour Alike A Juicy Tangerine and an image from It Girl plate 103.

Black Cat Lacquer Lotus Flower, Colour Alike 510, and comparison

I’ve got two swatches and a comparison to show you today! First up is Black Cat Lacquer Lotus Flower.

blackcatlacquer_lotusflower4

This is a nearly-neon bright pink with subtle holo and heavy gold glass fleck shimmer.

blackcatlacquer_lotusflower3

I love it so much! Two coats plus top coat, great formula.

blackcatlacquer_lotusflower2

Here is the comparison, top to bottom: Lotus  Flower, Picture Polish Electric Dream, Colour Alike 510, ILNP Cutie Pop.

blackcatlacquer_lotusflower_picturepolish_electriccoral_colouralike_510_ilnp_cutiepop3

Electric Dream is the most similar to Lotus Flower, but it’s less bright/neon and has larger, scattered holo flake particles. Colour Alike 510 is quite a different shade of pink and doesn’t have gold glass fleck. Cutie Pop on the other hand is a lighter, softer pink and its holo is more prominent than its glass flecks, the opposite of the Black Cat Lacquer. I used two coats plus top coat for each of them.

Again, left to right: Black Cat Lacquer Lotus  Flower, Picture Polish Electric Dream, Colour Alike 510, ILNP Cutie Pop.

And finally, here are swatches of Colour Alike 510. This one is also really pretty!

Two coats plus top coat, although it’s almost a one-coater. I’m going to try it for stamping as it seems like it might work well! In the shade:

Il était un vernis Matcha Doing Today?, Picture Polish Honeymoon, and stamping

I’ve got a couple of lovely pastel holos with glass-flecks and shimmer to show you today.

iletaitunvernis_matchadoingtoday_picturepolish_honeymoon_ott2

The lime green is Il était un vernis Matcha Doing Today? and the seafoam /minty blue-green is Picture Polish Honeymoon. First two photos under Ottlite.

iletaitunvernis_matchadoingtoday_picturepolish_honeymoon_ott

I used three coats each plus top coat. Flash photos:

I then added stamping using Colour Alike “A Blue Ocean” over Matcha Doing Today and “A Fresh Mojito” over Honeymoon. The image is from It Girl plate 101.

Picture Polish Eerie, Kunimitsu Red Empress, and stamping

The mani I have to show you today features three great polishes and an awesome stamping plate from It Girl Nail Art.

picturepolish_eerie_kunimitsu_redempress_stamping3

On my index and middle finger are two coats plus top coat of Picture Polish Eerie, a lilac “bijou holo” i.e. scattered holo with multicoloured glass flecks. On my ring and pinkie, three coats plus top coat of Kunimitsu Nail Potions Red Empress, a great bluish lilac crelly with pink shimmer and various glitters in red, pink and copper.

picturepolish_eerie_kunimitsu_redempress_stamping2

I added stamping on the index finger using Colour Alike stamping polish “A Sunset” and an image from It Girl plate 101 from their recently released first set of three stamping plates.

picturepolish_eerie_kunimitsu_redempress_stamping

I even took pictures of my right hand, that’s how much I loved this mani! 😉 So, here are (entirely too many) random pics of this on both hands!

Here’s a picture of the It Girl plate. These are rectangular plates 6cm by 12cm long, and the images are quite large so no worries about them being too small for long or large nails. I’m going to be having a giveaway soon for one of the It Girl plates along with some other goodies so stay tuned for that. 🙂

China Glaze What a Pansy and Picture Polish Eerie

China Glaze What a Pansy is a blue-leaning medium purple creme from the City Flourish collection. Unlike some of the polishes from that collection, this one doesn’t dry lightning-fast, so personally I was disappointed (I know many people hated the formula on those polishes, but I absolutely loved them); I have other periwinkle-leaning purples already.

chinaglaze_whatapansy_picturepolish_eerie3

Anyway, I used two coats plus top coat. On the ring finger I used a chevron vinyl and added Picture Polish Eerie. I also added a few dots of Eerie on the thumb, which you can see in a couple of the pics below. Love that Picture Polish “bijou holo” finish!

Picture Polish Paris and stamping

Picture Polish Paris is a beautiful jellyish coral pink with the signature PP scattered holo particles. Two coats plus top coat. Love this shade! With flash:

I did a stamped accent using Misa Blueberry Blast and the damask pattern from Konad plate M83.

picturepolish_paris_misa_blueberryblast_stamping_flash3

It didn’t really turn out as blue as I’d hoped; almost looks more grey without the Misa bottle right next to it. But I still like it! Blueberry Blast worked quite well for stamping, considering it’s a regular, pastel polish!

Picture Polish Calm and comparisons

Picture Polish Calm is like the turquoise/teal version of Autumn that I posted the other day. Jelly-based light teal blue with Picture Polish’s signature scattered holo flecks, two smooth coats plus top coat used here. Photos with flash.

picturepolish_calm_flash3

picturepolish_calm_flash2

picturepolish_calm_flash

I compared Calm to Picture Polish Lagoon and to LA Girl Teal Dimension. Lagoon and Calm are fairly similar but Lagoon has more creme to its base; as you can see in the bottles this makes it a bit lighter/more turquoise leaning:

picturepolish_calm_lagoon

Top to bottom: LA Girl Teal Dimension (much darker, obviously!), PP Calm, PP Lagoon, PP Calm. With flash:

picturepolish_calm_lagoon_lagirl_tealdimension4

Lagoon shows less visible nail line due to the creme in the base, but it and Calm do have a pretty similar shade on the nail. Lagoon also has the addition of medium size hex glitter in it. Lagoon has always been one of my favourite Picture Polishes and now I’m glad to have both of these! In shade:

Again, top to bottom: LA Girl Teal Dimension, PP Calm, PP Lagoon, PP Calm, and the sun came out for these last two pics:
